HR Coordinator – WSIB + Safety

Are you a safety focused HR professional with experience handling WSIB claims? The Tirecraft HR team is growing and we are seeking someone who is passionate about making a difference when it comes to safety. When you join Tirecraft, you will become a trusted advisor collaborating with several locations and Managers to bring forward actionable insights that deliver meaningful and improved safety outcomes. Your role will include tracking, WSIB management, projects, and defining new safety processes and procedures.

Responsibilities
- Full cycle WSIB administration; submit and track claims
- Create return to work program(s) and manage case(s) appropriately
- Participate and lead WSIB excellence program; outline and introduce safety related topics to improve overall safety program
- Become a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee; lead safety initiatives and necessary changes
- Lead on site monthly safety talks and workplace inspections
- Maintain employee training records and certifications, including the coordination of testing and recertification at prescribed frequencies
- Act as the primary HSE contact and liaison for operations across all locations
- Stay up to date on changing provincial safety regulations; implement changes company wide
- Review and maintain company SOPs; update and adjust as necessary
- Support HR team and all HR initiatives; back fill HR needs such as recruitment and employee relations as needed
Qualifications
- Post-Graduate certificate in Human Resources Management considered an asset
- 3+ years experience working in health and safety environment
- Excellent knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and WSIB Regulations
- Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills required to interact with a wide variety of individuals and personalities.
- Organized with a keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Passionate about customer service and making a difference.
- Strong working knowledge Microsoft 365 Programs
