Besides a chunky and aggressive tread design, Hankook gifted the Dynapro AT-m with features that are designed to perform well off-road and on the highway. It has a reinforced and patterned sidewall for excellent puncture resistance and extra grip in the deepest mud. Two step wave shaped kerfs (sipes) are molded deeper than a traditional tire. This helps them to last longer as well as provide even more grip on wet or slippery surfaces. The thick lugs are molded with step tiers to help prevent tread squirm or blocks folding over under extreme cornering. These stepped grooves also help to eject stones and other debris when enjoying your tires off road. Miniature scallop shaped grooves in between each of the large tread blocks give the tire even more grip in gravel and loose soil. The zig zag block edges ensure even more grip on wet, dry, and even snowy roads. An extra large tread footprint (compared to competitors) allows for more rubber to contact the road for more traction both on and off road.

Because durability is so important to an off-road tire, the Dynapro has a full suite of strengthening features to help protect it from damage. This includes a special cushioning pad near the rim to protect the wheel from possible compression damage when you are driving in a low pressure situation off road. A newly developed tread compound with a reinforced under-tread reduces your risk of off road punctures from ill placed stones and other debris. The casing carcass includes high strength nylon reinforced steel belts as well as a Jointless bead construction. This adds tremendous durability and strength to the tire for climbing over major off road obstacles without worrying about damage to the tire. This added strength also keeps the tire from deforming at highway speeds for better on road performance.
