History
Ron Valade and Gilles Aubin opened the first store in 1978 at 21911 Main Street as a 1 bay shop in Glen Robertson. As the business began to grow more staff was needed to service the customers and in 1981, Yvan Latulippe was hired. In 1984, Ron took over the business and built a 3400 sq.ft. addition for warehousing of passenger, light truck, commercial truck, farm tires, lawn and garden, ATV and small Off Road Tires for loaders and earth moving equipment. In 1991, a further 1,300 sq.ft. was added with the focus to be on mechanical service under the Napa AutoCare banner. In 2005 Ron’s son, Ghislain, joined the business focusing on the mechanical side of the business.
In 2014 Glengarry Tire purchased the property at 3301 Dalkeith the former Laurier Carriere School. The school was renovated to include 5 mechanical service bays, a large warehouse and customer service area. Ghislain also became co-owner in the business with his dad that year.
From what started out as a one bay garage Glengarry Tirecraft Glen Robertson has grown and expanded to meet the local community needs. Customers come from all areas of Glengarry, Stormont and Dundas counties as well as from Quebec.
