The strong grip offered by the Viking Contact 7 comes from its soft-compound tread design. The design includes a system of connected grooves which allows debris like water and/or slush to be pushed away from the contact patch on the tire.

The Continental Viking Contact 7 also features ContiSeal technology, so if the tire ever experiences a puncture, the tire will automatically seal the hole (in the tire tread) with a diameter of up to 5mm.
