For Toyo Observe GSi-5 winter tires, it all starts with the rubber compound. Toyo uses Microbit Technology to incorporate crushed walnut shells into the tread which allows the rubber to get additional grip on the road. Silica is also included in the compound to grant greater tread flexibility in cold weather conditions. Finally, the tread also includes an absorbent carbonic powder to absorb moisture on the road, allowing for better contact and better performance.

The unidirectional design of the tire assists in pulling the vehicle through inclement conditions while a continuous centre rib adds stability when travelling in a straight line, which when paired with wide lateral grooves, also defends against hydroplaning by helping to clear out fluid from the tires path. Saw-toothed edges in the chunky tread blocks grip deep snow for improved traction.

Spider Sipe Technology developed by Toyo allows each small cut in the tread block, a sipe, to act as traction in every direction so you’ll have phenomenal grip no matter the situation.
