Buttressed shoulders and cross-directional ribs have built in stone ejectors and grant excellent grip in snow, mud, or wet weather. For durability, it has steel and nylon protection chafers to defend the tire from road hazards and to add extra life to the casing. A high strength steel belt construction adds to retreadability while also protecting the tire from punctures and impacts. Yokohama developed STEM-2 technology further extends the life of the casing by dispersing shocks and vibrations throughout the entirety of the tire for less stresses in any one area.
