Yokohama

Why Yokohama Tires?

  • Each tire offers a smooth, quiet ride
  • Designed to enhance a driver's control over their vehicle
  • Environmentally friendly and responsible tire technology

TIRECRAFT’s range of Yokohama tires features winter tires, all season tires, summer and performance tires for passenger vehicles, SUV, CUV and light trucks. Yokohama is a world leader in high quality, long lasting, high performing tires. A set of Yokohama tires equips a vehicle with the latest developments in technology, enhances a driver’s control over their vehicle and provides excellent active safety and driving satisfaction.

Yokohama’s extensive research and development for racing tires has had a positive impact on their tire range and fans of these tires know that they offer a smooth, quiet ride with great handling and performance. Many car manufacturers know this too, and Yokohama is an original equipment manufacturer for many car companies. Yokohama produces tires for passenger cars, light trucks, commercial heavy trucks, earthmoving vehicles and mining equipment.

Yokohama has been producing tires since 1917 when it began as a joint venture between Yokohama Cable Manufacturing and B.F. Goodrich. They entered the North American market in 1969, and are well known for the high quality racing tires they design and provide as the official supplier of a number of events like World Touring Car Championship and the Macau Grand Prix. Their racing legacy dates back to 1963.

Yokohama Tires — All Season

Yokohama’s Avid series offers great handling in an all season tire, with the Avid Touring S being a popular choice. The Avid Ascend is made with orange oil technology, is available in V and H speed rating and is designed for every day use. The Avid Envigor is also available in H and V speed ratings.

Yokohama Tires — Winter

Yokohama has three segments in their winter offering. The Ice Guard line up has two options: Ice Guard IG52 for cars and the Geolander IG51V for SUVs, CUVs and pick up trucks. The W Drive winter tire is for those vehicles requiring a performance rated winter tire with a speed rating of V or lower.

Yokohama Tires — Light Truck/SUV

Yokohama’s options for light trucks and SUVs are in the Geolander range. The Geolander H/T-S models are designed for those who want an all season tire primarily used for highway driving. The Geolander A/T-S is the choice for those requiring a little more off road traction and functionality from a tire, and the Geolander M/T Plus is for off road drivers needing extreme traction.

Yokohama Tires — Performance

The Advan family series of tires represents the performance line up. For maximum summer performance, the Advan Neova AD08, Advan Sport, and S Drive are the choices for those who like to push their tires and vehicle to the limit of performance handling. The Advan S4, and Avid Envigor (W rated) are classed as Ultra High Performance and are both rated as all season tires.

Yokohama Tires — All Terrain

Yokohama is also leading many tire manufacturers in the creation of environmentally friendly and responsible tire technology. They developed the first tire infused with orange oil which uses 80% non-petroleum based materials. Not only do these developments help reduce the reliance on petroleum products but the new compounds can improve fuel economy through a reduction in rolling resistance of up to 20%. Yokohama is also focused on reducing emissions at production facilities world wide, and developing fuel efficient tires for cars, light trucks, and commercial heavy trucks.

They have a manufacturing plant in Salem, Virginia that produces 70% of the tires that are sold in the US, and their commercial tire plant in West Point, Mississippi is set to produce one million tires annually. They have over 13,000 employees worldwide, and continue to develop tires for winning teams at racing events including Canadian Rally Championship, Red Bull Rally Cross, Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA and Lotus Cup USA.
