Earlier this month, the Yokohama Rubber Co. proudly announced that a vehicle equipped with its GEOLANDAR off-road tires finished first in the Pro UTV Open class of the SCORE SAN FELIPE 250.

The SCORE SAN FELIPE 250 is the opening race of the 2022 SCORE World Desert Championship SERIES, which is widely considered to be one of the most brutal and demanding off-road races in the world, comprising over 450km of rugged, rock-strewn, pothole-ridden desert.

Pro UTV Open class driver Wayne Matlock finished the course in 6 hours and 8 minutes, the fastest time for any vehicle across UTV classes, and more than 15 minutes ahead of the runner-up. In post-race interviews, he said that “his victory was supported by the GEOLANDAR tires’ superb durability and performance on the rugged terrain” (Tires & Parts News, 2022).

Some of the GEOLANDAR’s top features for adventure-minded drivers include:

This victory marks the 2nd year in a row that Yokohama tires dominated the Pro UTV NA class, and it certainly won’t be the last!
